Certificate III in Education Support (CHC30808) - previously known as Teachers Assistant

This qualification covers workers in a range of education settings including public and independent schools and community education settings that provide assistance and support to teachers and students under broad based supervision.

Some jurisdictions may require specialist skill development and supervision by qualified teachers to address specific job roles.

How does the Training Work?

For your convenience, this qualification is available by classes, correspondence or online training.

Australian Training Professionals are the experts in delivering this qualification having gained extensive experience and a reputation for professionalism and quality.

Students receive a workbook comprising 14 easy to mange units allowing completion of the qualification with self-paced workbooks. Assessment and supportive evidence is done through assessment of the tasks in the workbook.

This Certificate requires 2 weeks (80 hours) of compulsory supervised practical experience so that skills and knowledge can be observed. This may be done as one two-week block or; two one-week blocks, throughout your training so as to experience a realistic environment and to gather sufficient evidence.

The supervised practice also provides other benefits to the learner such as establishing a relationship with a potential employer.

You will need to have a current “Working with Children Check Certificate” and Police Clearance prior to any work placement - this is now a legal requirement for anyone working with children.

You can obtain your application from any Post Office in Australia.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

The Units of Competency are listed for each qualification on our website and in our information pack. If you have successfully completed any units from the qualifications at another Registered Training Organisation (RTO), we will recognise this study as partial completion of the qualifications.

Recognition of Current Competencies (RCC)

We also offer an RCC process that ensures you are not required to complete structured training for competencies that have already been achieved, and that you gain appropriate recognition for the competencies you have already acquired.

The RCC process is generally offered to those who have previously worked or are currently working in the industry and are required to complete the qualification. If you think you may be a candidate for an assessment only RPL process, or if you have previously obtained some units of competence then please speak to us regarding prices.
