• involve others to gather information about current and future funding
• define a funding body and understand how and why they operate
• identify the core questions funding bodies require to be answered
• know what to check for in a tender brief / funding guidelines document
• develop and structure your idea for funding to ensure it fits the requirements
• organise your idea into a logical sequence, ensuring the proposal outline it is clear, concise, accurate and complete
• produce an appropriate budget for your application
• best to proof read and check your proposal
• use a final checklist to confirm all the tender brief / guideline requirements have been addressed
