Recognise Healthy Body Systems in a Health Care Context - Anatomy and Physiology (HLTAP301A)

This is the Pilates Course Pre-requisite

This unit of competency describes the basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology required to recognise body systems and their components and to identify and refer alterations associated with the functioning of the human body in the context of health care work

Apply knowledge of the basic structure of the healthy human body

  • Use accepted health terminology to describe the normal structure, function and location of the major body systems
  • Apply a basic understanding of the fundamental principles of maintaining a healthy body
  • Work with knowledge of the major components of each body system and their location in relation to other structures

Apply basic knowledge of factors that support healthy functioning of the body

  • Work with a basic understanding of how to maintain the whole body in an overall state of health
  • Work with a basic understanding of the relationships between body systems required to support healthy functioning

The course is delivered using a combination of correspondance and a face-to-face workshop.

Cost

$285.00 includes text book, face-to-face training and final assessment

Training & Delivery

The course is delivered with a combination of theory consisting of face to face training sessions. Participants will also be required to complete assignments outside of these sessions.  Participants will be provided with the learning and assessment resources. These resources will be utilised throughout the duration of your training and is extremely useful for future reference.

Instructors

Your instructor is highly qualified, passionate and is an experienced Pilates instructor. Throughout your training you will be guided and mentored through the necessary knowledge in functional anatomy and physiology giving you the confidence to communicate the appropriate language and terminology related to Pilates positions and movement.

  • Case studies and scenarios
  • Short answer questions
  • Group discussions & practical demonstrations
